Timothy J. Lynch, Sr. is a second generation funeral director and along with his wife Jennifer, owns and operates the Walled Lake, Oxford and Lapeer locations of Lynch & Sons. A 1971 graduate of Brother Rice High School, he attended Michigan State University and graduated, in 1974, from Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science where he served as class president.
Tim was instrumental in introducing “death education” to the Walled Lake Schools, where for years he taught seminars and workshops in bereavement and funeral customs. He has, for thirty years, served as a bereavement consultant to Walled Lake Schools and is a frequent recipient of the Golden Apple Award for his educational initiatives.
Married for over thirty eight years to his childhood sweetheart, Jennifer Justen, Tim has presided over a growing family enterprise. He has been joined in funeral service by his sons, Tim Jr. and Kevin and his daughter, Katie, all of whom hold licenses, as well as his son-in-law, Mark Capstick, who is also a licensed funeral director. He and Jennifer are the proud grandparents of Ella, Brennan, Caroline and Henry Lynch, Addison and Livie Lynch and Kaden, Abigail Jennifer, and Lucy Capstick. They are assisted at the funeral homes by daughters-in-law Jamie Brennan Lynch and Melissa Hagensen Lynch.
Active in numerous civic and community organizations, Tim and Jenny have made great contributions to each community in which they serve. Tim is Past President of the Wixom-Walled Lake Lions Club, Past Chairman Of The Board of Central Scholarship Funds, Inc., Founding Member of the Foundation For Excellence-Walled Lake Schools, Past Member of the Walled Lake Rotary Club and the Walled lake Area Jaycees, the Past Treasurer of the Walled Lake Chamber Of Commerce and a member of the Walled Lake Schools Crisis Intervention Team. They have been members for over thirty years of St. William Church in Walled Lake.
He and Jennifer truly represent the motto of Lynch & Sons: “A Family Tradition of Dignified Service”.
