Bruce Knirs
March 10, 1941 - June 17, 2012
Bruce Knirs, 71, of Lum passed away June 17, 2012 in the comforts of his home and in the presence of family members and friends. He was raised in Boonville, IN, the son of Walter and Ruth Knirs. Bruce loyally served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. He later retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years as a Machine Repairer. He was a member of the Lapeer VFW. He also worked for 10 years as a part-time employee at the Lapeer Wal-Mart. He is survived by wife Gail Knirs of 48 years; sons Daniel Knirs, Ray Knirs and Walter (Fiancée, Brandi) Knirs II; daughter Yvonne Knirs; grandsons J.B. Knirs II, Thomas and David; granddaughter Aaron Lacie Knirs; sisters Donna McMullen, Shirley Altmeyer. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Extended family, Julie and Mandy.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers Walter and Ronald Knirs; sister Joyce Roth; extended family member Gary.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park Lapeer, MI 48446. “A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice of Lapeer for their loving care and compassion.”
